2 out of 5 stars Boring !   October 3, 2007

We bought this for my 9 yr old son for Christmas. At first it was fun..but the novelty soon wore off. It walks very slowly and is almost impossible for it to turn. The tail is controlled left and right by 2 separate buttons. It is hard to get it going and then its no big deal as the tail moves in jerks.
It is very expensive and looks cooler than it actually is. Don't waste your money on this one.

3 out of 5 stars Wasn't worth the money. Wouldn't recommend for kids >13   July 22, 2007

This toy walked around the house, turned his head, wagged his tail but other than that, was a real bore and isn't worth $99. This product is worth about $30 and at $99 was a waste of my money.

It still works, hasn't broken, so it's durable, but what's the purpose of this dinosaur? it's so boring and my 8 year old only plays with this as an action figure with other dinosaurs. Not for young kids. It's very boring.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely loved it!   April 12, 2007

I ordered this for my 10 year old nephew last Christmas. When I got the batteries in it and turned it on, I could not believe how incredibly cool it was. It sniffed it's prey, and ran across the very short knit carpet without any trouble. It almost seemed "real." My nephew as been enjoying it for many months and it still works fine! I thought the different moods were interesting.
I would recommend this toy. Little boys love it! I'm the 39 year old aunt, who wishes she had one to play with :o)

1 out of 5 stars WASTE OF MONEY   February 16, 2007

Okay, so I read the reviews that you have already read or will read if you keep scrolling. It doesn't work at all on carpet, the gait is slow and not really that cool on hard surfaces, the moods aren't all that different, it is too expensive for what it is, etc. I thought my super bright, robot-science-dinosaur obsessed son would love it anyway. I thought I just needed to make sure I had high quality batteries and it would work better for us. Well it didn't. He played with it for the first day for an hour, and now it is in a corner of his room unused. My recommendation would be to get a good quality remote control car or spend a little more and get a Nintendo DS Lite (or a little less and get the DS). This toy was a huge disappointment.

Don't believe the positive reviews. I can't see how any adult or child with half a brain could possibly think this toy was all that cool, especially considering the cost. To me, it is similar to those cheap drug store toys that you can get around the holidays at Walgreen's or CVS. They look kind of cool, but they don't really work. At least at Walgreen's or CVS, you will only pay $[...] for it. If you can grab a Roboraptor for that price, it might be worth it, but any more than that and you might as well drop quarters in a shot glass in an aquarium to try to win something. That will keep your interest for just as long as the Roboraptor will!

5 out of 5 stars The life of the Christmas Party   February 2, 2007

I bought this for my 6-year-old nephew for Christmas and gave it to him at our family party. All the kids loved it. Entertaining for the adults for a while, but hugely entertaining for kids and teens.
