Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Overheating laptops are a bigger problem than most people realize, as heat reduces system stability and harms the lifespan of your electronics. To combat this problem, you need the Antec Notebook Cooler! Increasing the cooling your laptop gets can help it last longer, and may reduce or even eliminate system crashes.

I have had this laptop cooler for several months now and have been very happy with it. Some people complain about the blue power light, but it doesn't bother me at all. I also like that it has both low and high settings. I keep it on high while playing games, and although it makes a little more noise it keeps my computer cooler. When I'm just browsing I keep it on low and I don't even hear the fans. Probably the best thing about this cooler is that it works very well both on a desk or table and while sitting on my lap. I even bought one for my roommate for Christmas because he liked mine so much. One thing to keep in mind is that it won't work as well for smaller laptops. I have an older 13" Macbook and it is just barely big enough. Also, unlike most other coolers (I think) it sucks air down away from laptop instead of blowing air up into it.

5 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for!!!   January 6, 2009

I was looking for something more substantial than my previous cooling pad (Targus Laptop Chill Pad - PA248Y01U) and this product is perfect. I love that it is made of metal and the taller rubber pegs that the laptop sits on are a better height to facilitate cooling. Also, the rubber feet make it completely non-slip. Thanks Antec!!!

4 out of 5 stars cooler is better   January 6, 2009

This is a nice unit for the price. I have only run it on high and wish it would produce a little more cooling. Doubt I would use it at low fan speed. I do have my laptop running 24/7 so it gets pretty hot. But it does do the job. Would like to see it run a little cooler and also be available in bigger size.
Very happy with what it is.

This notebook cooler works perfectly. It's quiet, comfortable, and it keeps my laptop cool all day. Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Decent product, but not for Dell XPS 1530 users   January 5, 2009
Cody Bornsheuer (Champaign, IL)
I got this item as a gift this holiday season. It is a solidly built, high-quality product. The fans are fairly quiet and it does create good airflow.

Unfortunately for me, the fans pulling heat from the bottom of the chassis are situated right under the air intake for my ventilation system, and I noticed my system getting warmer than usual, even under light use.

To be clear, this product pulls air from under the laptop and pushes it out the underside of the cooler. Dell XPS users would be advised to get a cooler like the Zalman NS-1000, which blows cold air on the bottom of them system.

Fortunately, it works great on my sister's system, so shes able to get some benefit from it.

Highly recommended, if the flow direction in appropriate for your system
