Love the bouncer but have concerns about the smell when it is running January 5, 2009 KimS (Illinois) We bought this bouncer for our 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son. They love jumping on it and the size is perfect... we have it setup on the third floor of our home. The problem is that when it is running I feel like I am getting a headache and there is a strange smell... I checked and it does say outdoor use only-- has anyone experienced this? I actually put it away and told the kids we need to wait until its nice enough to use outdoors... the smell is very concerning. I am not sure its safe for indoor use. (and it is the banzai version as another consumer noted). It is made of vinyl and PVC. We are disappointed because we really wanted to use it indoors. :-(
Satisfied with it November 9, 2008 Christina S. Harrald (MICHIGAN) We bought this on sale, for $[...] and free shipping. [...] I wouldn't recommend buying the balls online, as you'll be paying too much for shipping. [...] The bouncer is really durable. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the blower motor has to be on at all times to keep it inflated. Believe it or not but I wasn't aware of that when I purchased it for my 18 month old. She was afraid of it at first because the motor is loud, and when it blew up she thought it was sucking mommy in! But after forcing her in it a few times, she started liking it. I wouldn't buy it for children under 3 who cannot jump with both feet at the same time yet. My daughter doesn't really jump in it, she wants me to go in it with her and roll her around on top of the balls. If you find this on sale, I'd def. recommend buying it.
Overall great buy - perfect for home use October 21, 2008 Jennifer Hoffmann (Hampshire, IL) As other reviewers have mentioned, it is quite a bit smaller than 8x8. That being said, it is an excellent substitution for renting if you only have a few small children. I'm not sure what others purchased it for, but on Oct. 6, 2008, I paid $149.99. The next morning I logged on to check shipping and saw it had been changed to $74.99! I immediately called customer service and thankfully got a very helpful man who refunded $75!!! For $75 (with free shipping and no tax), this was an unbelievable deal! We've used it only a few times, so we cannot really comment on the long-term quality, but for size, ease of use (very easy to set up/put away), and price, it is definitely a great buy.
Great indoor fun for the winter/rainy season October 16, 2008 The Grim Meeper (St. Louis, MO) Our daughter and her friends have blast on this bouncer. It's perfect for those cold/rainy/snowy days when the kids want to play and burn off some energy. It was designed for outdoor use, but we've set it up in our basement and it works beautifully. I have started to notice some air leakage at a few seams, so that is something to look out for. The only issue we've had so far is that the instruction manual was written somewhat poorly (maybe it will make perfect sense to others, just confused us a bit). We also had a bad experience with Amazon's customer service because the listing said the toy was made by Manley, but what we got was made by Banzai. The customer service rep argued with us that it doesn't matter as long as we got a bouncer. Once we got that moron off the phone and spoke to his American supervisor, the whole thing was resolved. This is rare for Amazon customer service and really has nothing to do with the toy itself. All in all, I would recommend this especially for the upcoming winter months...just make sure you've got enough head room.
Good value for the price but... October 15, 2008 Danksalot (Ohio) This is a terrific value for the price but it is not the quality you find in a commercial unit. The sides easily collapse if the kids hang on them (very easy to do-but not a big deal) and it is not as big as it seems. We've used it several times, I thought the kids (3 and 6) would play in it for hours like they do at the fairs, but they just don't. If you don't want to spend a fortune, this is it! But if you can spend a little more money, look for one with a larger jumping area (the unit is 8x8-but the jumping area is more like 6x6).
