Amazon.com Product Description
Little ones can rush to the rescue on this electric ride-on fire truck by Kid Trax. Flashing emergency lights, a working fire hose, and lighted dashboard make each ride thrilling for youngsters ages three and up. The two-speed transmission has speeds at 2.5 mph and 5.0 mph, with reverse at 2.5 mph. Forward and reverse motion is controlled by a clutch located at the bottom of the seat. Parental control ensures safety as the child drives this ride-on.

A working megaphone allows the toddler to call out to victims and the little hero can then put out the blaze with the 1-liter capacity super-spray hose. Fire truck gauges, sturdy grab bars, and pre-applied graphics add to the fun. The truck also has ignition, acceleration, horn, and siren sounds (from controls built into the steering wheel) to create a realistic experience for your little firefighter.

Not only is this fire engine loads of fun, it is safe and built to last. It features a long-lasting, 12-volt battery (which provides up to 10 hours of battery life between charges), twin rear-wheel drive motors, and durable wheels with a built-in traction strip to prevent slippage. Parents love that this electric ride-on is quick and easy to assemble. And two children may ride at one time, so long as their combined weight does not exceed 130 pounds. This ride-on comes with a one-year limited warranty and a six-month battery warranty.

Kid-sized fire engine is ready to roll.

Includes working water cannon on the back.

What's in the Box?
Fire truck, megaphone, spray hose, battery and charger, removable rescue shovel and axe

4 out of 5 stars Fun but no the greatest thing on 4 wheels   December 19, 2008
BenderUnit (Chino Hills, CA)
I bought this one for my son last year for Christmas. Overall it is a fun fire truck with flashing LED lights and fire engine noises. My son loves going around the block in it. There are two speed levels so once he out grew the slow gear, it was easy to enable the faster speed. Putting the thing together wasn't that bad either since most of it is already build. all you have to do is put the wheels on.

What I didn't like was the fire hose on the back. First of all it is so hard to pump, even I have a hard time doing it, so you can imagine that my son can't really do it by himself. Even after you pump it all the way it doesn't last very long, the pressure is lost and you will find yourself doing the same action over again. Secondly, for a fire truck with two motorized wheels, but only one will work on slower speeds so you will get stuck in some areas. The second wheel engages only when its on the faster speed setting. Lastly. why can't they make it so your kid won't get whiplash? Whenever my son hits the peddle, it takes off so fast it makes his head whip backwards.

Overall it's a fun product but it needs some fine tuning.

1 out of 5 stars Batteries Don't Last & EXPENSIVE   October 26, 2008

We purchased the Kid Trax Fire Engine for Christmas last year. It works great and we have lots of fun until we needed to replace the battery. Try to find replacement batteries and that's when the fun stops. No store carries them (Not found in Toys R Us, Radio Shack, Walmart, Target). We spent $350.00 last year (with a coupon) and I just spent $82.00 for a new battery ($69.00 plus $13.00 shipping). Most replacement batteries for other vehicles cost around $30.00. Think about that before purchasing.

2 out of 5 stars Too many problems for my child to enjoy!   October 16, 2008

My mother in law bought this fire truck for my son and he loves it. It is a shame that before a year I had to replace the battery causting me $80.00. Than the gear on the back driver side stripped. The only place to get parts is from hong kong and that took 3 months costing $50.00. Less than a month after repairing the gear they are making a horrible noise and are stripping again. I give up! It is a shame my son loves it but I would not recommend this tide on toy to anyone. We have had a 4 wheeler and a barbie jeep for years with no trouble at all. Think before wasting your money, it isn't worth the aggrevation.

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous!!   September 2, 2008

My son just turned 4 and received this from his grandparents. He loves to play pretend (fireman, policeman, pirate, etc.) and this firetruck has become in 1 week his most favorite activity - KidTrax seems to really have improved on the concerns raised by prior consumers from the original model - everything is working well, simple to put together, has 2 speeds, handles easily, etc., etc. A FABULOUS choice!!

3 out of 5 stars be prepared   August 4, 2008

I bought my son this fire truck when he was 3 years old. He is now 5 and he loves to ride on it.. That's not very often since it's always broken. Last summer I purchased a replacement battery and they were supposed to send a connector with it, I never received it. The connection is the worst part of this toy that I have found. The plastic body is very durable. Also there's a problem with the shifter. It's a great toy if you can afford the truck in the first place, but then get your wallets out for all the replacement parts.
