an improvement on the classic October 4, 2008 Smiley Bride (New York, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter's daycare has this toy (I think thye usually use it without the batteries...). At 13 months, it is simple for her to stack the rings. I believe this toy is more developmentally appropriate for this age than the toy that I grew up with (just like what we have at home), which Fisher Price calls Rock-A-Stack. On the Rock-A-Stack, the pole is slanted, so the rings have to go on in a particular order in order for them to all fit. That skill comes much later than the ability to stack. With this toy, the rings can go in in any order, thus isolating stacking as the relevant developmental skill.
Great learning toy! August 25, 2008 Jenn V. (St. Louis, MO USA) We received this toy as a gift for my son when he was about 8 months old. He was drawn to the colors and lights. He's now 4 1/2, and he still enjoys this toy, as he's teaching his little brother how to use it. In my mind, the only drawback is that you can't change the sound volume or turn it off. To solve that, we put a piece of tape over the speaker to deaden the sound...it helps, but it's not perfect. Even though we can't turn off the toy, the batteries have lasted a very long time. Overall, it's a great toy that has provided hours of entertainment to both my kids.
Great toy July 12, 2008 L. Katzman My five month old daughter really loves this toy even though she cannot stack the pieces. She loves the colored rings and enjoys when I stack them to make it play a song. The buttons for the songs got stuck, but we were able to fix it.
upgraded! July 10, 2008 Anne (California,USA) We got a stacker toy like this as a hand-me-down from a friend of mine, who has older kids. I figured out when I was at my friend's house with her 4 month old son, that theirs was different than ours. This one was harder plastic and more durable which was better. Ours are "flammable". because, one time I was babysitting my 14 yr old niece, and my 5 year old nephew.and her friend. the girls were about 8 1/2 and 9 at the time, and my nephew was barely born. and they were playing Birthday party. and wanted to use the stacker pieces as decors. about 30 mins-1 hour later, I came in to check on them and these stacker toys were on the lamps in her room. I took them off and their was a little black on the edging and the toy was soft, so I threw it away. This one is so much better, the lights flicker when music is played, and fun to just stack, and helps with your colors. also when you put the stackers on the pole the lights on the pole light up. I found this at Target and was so happy. I didnt buy it until the middle of June. My son loves it and so do I!!!!!!!
Nice colors, annoying music! June 12, 2008 K. Sulzer (Lebanon, PA) My 12 month old daughter doesn't really seem to enjoy this toy much yet. She does like to throw the stars around, and push the button to make the music play. Hopefully as she gets a bit older, the stacking part will be something she enjoys!
