Baby loves this thing January 1, 2009 K. E Pearce (Santa Barbara, CA) I was always a wooden-toy type of mommy, but I got this mirror because it seemed better than a lot of the other mirrors. The baby LOVES this thing. The quality of the music and sounds is amazing. I will continue to buy products like this.
Good ideas, poor execution. November 19, 2008 alanamoana (Silicon Valley, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Mirrors are great for babies and recommended as a good source of entertainment during the early stages of development. I like this mirror because of the bright colors, different textures, soft frame, ability to make sounds and overall "baby friendly" looks. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. Like other reviewers, I was disappointed with the lack of a volume control as it is too loud. The large, textured pads to activate the animal sounds are great, but the actual contact point to make the noise is so small even I have a hard time doing it sometimes. My daughter was very attracted to the puffy animal faces along the edge of the mirror. It would have made sense to have the noise activation buttons inside these rather than having the tabs at all. I don't think my daughter ever purposefully was able to make the noises happen (by accident, yes). I didn't find out that the Leapfrog character in the middle even had a button in it except by accident. It plays a nice song with baby noises in three segments, but again, the button isn't indicated by anything visible. Agreeing with the other reviewers again with regard to the angle of the mirror. The velcro isn't long enough to get a good angle for a baby that can't sit up (or hold their head up) yet. It is floppy and awkward for a baby to hold on its lap as well. Again, I think the ideas are there...they just need to be designed a little better in version 2.0
Great entertainer, but loud! November 18, 2008 Jo (Virginia) I bought this because I wanted to have a mirror for my son to interact with, but I wanted it to do so much more. It serves that purpose. My son, 4 1/2 mos., loves the sounds and especially likes the songs played by pressing the frog's foot. Also, you can hook an ipod up to it, although I haven't done this yet. There are 2 problems with this toy: 1) it is really loud, and there's no way to turn it down. 2) the button you press on the frog's foot to play the cute little song is really hard to find in the first place, and then you have to press it really hard. so it's not something my son's ever going to be able to do on his own. the mirror is very clear and sometimes my son will just lie there and stare at himself. but this toy is more fun when you play with it with your child. point out your child's features and talk about his little face. you can also talk about the different animals and sounds by pressing the different tabs. all in all, I would buy this again, but it's not something I take with us for him to play with out and about.
cute and functional but could be better constructed September 24, 2008 mvo (IL) We gave this to our newborn. She is now 15 months old. She likes it but it was never one of her favorite toys. We've never used the mp3 plug-in--not really any point to it. The tabs are not sensitive enough to be activated consistently. The mirror is a nice size. It does not stand up well on its own. Don't know what they mean by two heights--it's just a long strip of velcro that isn't sewn on in a way that makes it easy to stay at an angled position. On sale, it's a good buy.
my girl really loves it. July 19, 2008 Sun Mi Son (Boston USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My 3 months old daughter really like the music and sound of it. Also, she enjoys watching the mirror.
