Colorful entertaiment piece... but July 1, 2008 Mom (South) My son loves to gaze at this colorful, fun shaped mirror but since this item was made to be tied to his crib, the purple (detachable) bird and the teething ring will not extend far enough for my son to play with. Both purple bird and teething ring are attached to the console via nylon ribbon. I really wish the designer would place the bird and teething ring dangling at the same edge so it is easier for infants to grasp and chew on.
Great mirror - worth the money June 29, 2008 Toodles! (Texas) My twins have been using this since @ 4 weeks old. You can tie the mirror to the crib or other objects (I also tied it to the playmat)...or you can stand it up on the floor. I like the fact that it can be angled. You can use this for tummy time and angle the mirror where it will pick up the ceiling fan above you...kids love watching ceiling fans. I feel this mirror can be used in lots of places and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.
Nice Crib Toy, Average Floor Toy May 6, 2008 Nicki Heskin (Southern California) If your baby likes to play in the crib, this is a great little toy. We've had it for 5 years now. Our first played with a lot after waking, which was nice. I like that it's simple and tactile and no bells and whistles (literally and figuratively). The angle thing is nice for when they are still just laying on their back. There is also a place on the back side to put in a photo or family picture or other custom insert and you can have that side facing the baby sometimes if you want. After a few years, a lot of the "spring" comes out of those litle "tails" on the left side, but they are still fun enough. As a floor toy it leaves a lot to be desired because it falls over. I would not buy it for that purpose. It could be played with lying flat on the floor though. Good baby gift for a 0-18 month old. We gave it to several people after liking ours.
Colorful mirror, but does not stand up April 16, 2008 NewMom08 (Blacksburg VA) I purchased this mirror for my 3 month old to play with on the floor. To my disappointment, she knocked it over several times during its first use. It's very colorful and a nice size, but it is not at all sturdy on the ground. I would not reccomend this for play time on the floor.
Baby loves it March 25, 2008 Mommy of 2 busy boys (Arkansas) We bought this mirror when my oldest son was born and he loved it. Now my second son is using it and he loves it too. About the ties not being long enough-they're not long enough to tie around my crib's wide slats either, but here's what I did: I tied the ties to link-a-doos and those do slide around the slats and stay put. The "easel" feature that is supposed to make it stand up doesn't really work. The front of the mirror is heavier than the back, so it tends to fall forward on my baby's face. But, I've discovered if I take a normal plastic wipes container that is full and slip it in the middle of the mirror, it evens out the weight and it won't tip over on him. Both my boys have loved it, and even despite the minor annoyances I mentioned above, I think it's worth it!
