Product Description It's a journal that is password protected. Only the owner can open it with a secret password! It uses voice recognition technology to protect your secrets, it has a light so you can write at night, a calendar to keep track of important dates and you can create your own cover design!
Editorial Review The Password Journal 3 combines technology and secret-keeping, making it of interest to girls who like neat gadgets ... and privacy (and what girl doesn't?). In addition to functions for setting important dates, times, and other data, the journal has a secret compartment inside for treasured belongings: promise rings, phone numbers, photos, etc. A night-light allows for transactions that can be made only under the cover of darkness. Unlike past versions of the Password Journal, this one lets you custom decorate the cover by placing photos under the removable vinyl cover. The coolest feature, though, is undoubtedly the voice-coded access--once the password is entered via the built-in microphone, the machine opens only at the voice of its owner. We found it a bit tricky to get this to work the first time, and had better luck whispering our code word than speaking it. Low batteries (three AAs) may cause the security functions to behave erratically. --Amazon.com Toy Reviewers

Password Journal January 14, 2008 N. Nunez (Dallas, TX) My daughter has not gotten to use because of the voice recognition. I will have to reset because it picked up background noise. Be sure there is complete quiet when recording voice.

My daughter has one and she will even tell you not to spend your money on it. She never could get it to open. The voice has to be exact each time and my daughter was 9. Its a hard plastic that makes it uncomfortable to write in it.
OK But... September 7, 2005 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This journal was my birthday present. I think it's ok but you always have to take the batteries out to open it and reset it again. Also the journal pages are really thin and there aren't enough pages to write in. It's mainly a drag to operate this journal.
Super cool and awesome toy August 26, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this in the mail from my aunt on my eleventh birthday. At first, I couldn't figure it out, but once I read the directions, (which I never do at first, I always try to figure it out myself)it was really cool! Okay, I'll admit. I couldn't get into the journal myself for a while, but with a little practice, a figured out the secret to opening it up: use the exact same tone of voice every time. Overall it was pretty cool!
