Majority Right - Legs Are A Problem January 5, 2009 EReis (Drexel Hill, PA) Luckily, I was able to purchase this for my son at a drastically lower price than what is being offered here - 50% less. I can understand why many people are upset, especially if they purchased it at the price listed. The product is made well and all the bells and whistles work great, but the legs do not stay attached and fall off easily. Not all the legs were doing this, but when 3 out of 6 come off that makes it a little difficult to play with it. Sad that Hasbro has very little concern for quality.
Should Be Recalled Immediately January 4, 2009 C. P. Jackson (Fairfax) [...] I wish I had read the reviews before I bought it. If you measure it's educational value by how well it teaches patience, perseverence and handling failure, it would get five stars. As for durability, it rates less than zero. The 12-year old tried to put it together on Christmas for his 8- and 5-year old brothers. Tonight, I struggled with it for nearly an hour before offering to take it back to the store. I don't know why the kids said they want to keep it. I guess it's because they love Star Wars and enjoy placing the clones in the legless vehicle. That's right: the legs fall off. And, the doors fall open. I couldn't even find the place to insert the batteries, so the 8-year old brought out four screw drivers with the intention of dismantling the thing. I gave up when the boys shrugged and said their friend has the AT-TE and it falls apart the same way this one does.
AT-TE no problem with legs January 2, 2009 J. Clark (North Carolina) I was a bit worried about the AT-TE leg issue -- but have not had the problem with the legs coming off at the slightest touch. Both my boys love this toy.
Piece of Junk January 2, 2009 R. McGee (Milford, MI United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wish I could give it negative stars - and I wish I had read these reviews before buying it! I'm going to try the tube fix, but for what I paid I can't believe I have to do anything at all for it. This toy almost ruined my son's Christmas, as it was his gift from Santa. It fell apart immediately and consistantly, causing my little guy to be frustrated to tears. Do yourself a favor and avoid this heap of junk. There are better toys out there for less money.
Less then ZERO January 1, 2009 Dave P (NJ USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The toy is not worth any money. My seven year old son asked Santa for this for Christmas and Santa brought it. He asked why Santa would give such a bad toy for Christmas. After trying to attach the legs every which way and none of them worked I figured that this toy was poorly made and never properly tested. Also, the doors tend to open at will and the "wheels" that were supposed to allow it to move, barely work. If I could rate this less then zero, I would. Save your money and look elsewhere
